½ cup whole milk or cream (warm)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Glazed Carrots:
1 lb carrots, peeled and sliced into sticks or rounds
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Optional: pinch of cinnamon or thyme for flavor variation
