Pepper powder 0.5 tsp
Ground black pepper 0.25 tsp
Minced Swiss cheese 1.5 cups
Hot milk 1.75 cups
Diced deli ham 8 oz
Cooked chicken 2.75 cups
Shredded Swiss cheese 0.25 cups
Bread crumbs 0.5 cups
Italian spice Sprinkle to taste
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Lasagna Noodles
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add the lasagna noodles and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 8 minutes or until they are al dente.
Drain the noodles and set aside.
2. Make the Cream Cheese Sauce
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the softened cream cheese and stir for about 5 minutes until it begins to melt.
Add the salt and black pepper, stirring to combine.
Gradually whisk in the hot milk until the sauce is smooth.
Add 1.5 cups of minced Swiss cheese and stir until melted and the sauce thickens. This should take about 5-10 minutes.
Remove the sauce from the heat.
3. Assemble the Lasagna
Spread 3/4 cup of the cheese sauce on the bottom of a 9×9-inch baking dish.
Layer 1/3 of the lasagna noodles over the sauce.
Top with 1/2 of the cooked chicken and 1/2 of the diced ham.
Pour 1 cup of the cheese sauce over the chicken and ham.
Repeat these layers: add another 1/3 of the noodles, the remaining chicken, ham, and 1 cup of cheese sauce.
For the final layer, add the remaining noodles, cover with the rest of the cheese sauce, and sprinkle with the shredded Swiss cheese and bread crumbs.
Season with a sprinkle of Italian spice.
4. Bake the Lasagna
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until the casserole begins to bubble.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the bread crumbs are golden brown.
Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
